Waves ram ferry against pier in Sibuyan Island

A passenger ship ran aground at the port in Magdiwang town in Sibuyan Island, Romblon on Sunday, damaging part of the pier there.

 

According to a "News TV Live" report, MV Maria Querubin of Montenegro Shipping Lines was leaving Ambulong port in Sibuyan Island before noon when strong winds and waves pushed the ship against the pier.

 

Residents and the Philippine Coast Guard rescued the 62 passengers on board.
