2 killed as overloaded motorcycle hits truck in Misamis Oriental

A motorcycle rider and one of his two back riders were killed after hitting a mini-truck in Tagoloan town in Misamis Oriental last weekend.

 

The truck crashed into a house as its driver swerved to avoid the motorcycle in the incident last Friday night, GMA Northern Mindanao's Joane Tabique reported Monday.

 

Killed were motorcycle driver Ariel Nalagon and his passenger Patrick Flores. A second passenger, Carlo Flores, is in critical condition at a hospital.

 

Truck driver Frederick Milaon said he was surprised to see the motorcycle in his lane after it overtook another vehicle.

 

"Sila talaga ang bumangga sa akin... Ang motor talaga niya sobrang mabilis. Tapos ako may karga naman akong mangga, mabagal talaga ang takbo ko," he said.

 

He said he even swerved into a house to avoid hitting the motorcycle. No one in the house was injured.

 

"Biglang may bumangga habang nakahiga ako sa likod. Ang aking mama at aking anak nanood doon ng TV. Tapos nakita na lang namin nakapasok na ang truck," said one of the house's occupants, Michelle.
