Man found dead at Davao City hydropower plant

A man was found dead in the turbine screen of a hydroelectric power plant in Davao City Sunday morning

 

The fatality, initially identified as Avelino Apostolero, had been missing since Saturday, GMA Davao reported Monday.
 

 

Initial investigation showed Apostolero had gone to the Caraga region to spend the holidays.

 

"Akala ko nung isang gabi pa siya dumating. Tumawag na lang si Kapitan, may nakita raw na bangkay. Avelino daw kasi nakita sa reseta," said his relative Alma Morales.

 

Barangay Mintal Chairman Ramon Bargamento said they recovered from the victim his earrings and necklace, but added his wallet was missing.

 

Apostolero had no external injuries, prompting authorities to theorize he fell into the river and drowned.

 

However, his relatives will have an autopsy performed to determine the cause of his death. — Joel Locsin/JDS, GMA News
