NDRRMC: 113K evacuated due to Amang

More than 113,000 people in Bicol and Eastern Visayas were evacuated from their homes due to Tropical Storm Amang (Mekkhala), the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council said Monday.
In its 8 a.m. update, the NDRRMC said Amang had displaced 20,695 families or 113,160 people from Albay, Catanduanes, Sorsogon, Camarines Norte, Camarines Sur, Leyte, Biliran, Eastern Samar, and Samar.
The NDRRMC also said 4,922 families or 21,867 people in Bicol, Central Visayas and Eastern Visayas. It added that 4,967 families or 21,185 people are being served in and out of 61 evacuation centers.
The death toll remained at two.
On the other hand, the NDRRMC said 15 roads, three bridges and two spillways are impassable.
At least four houses were destroyed while 148 were damaged in Viga, Catanduanes and Daet, Camarines Norte.
Meanwhile, power interruption was reported in Northern Samar and Western Samar. — Joel Locsin/VC, GMA News
