A Chinese-Tausug businesswoman was abducted by six unidentified men in Barangay Chinese Pier in Jolo, Sulu over the weekend, the military said Tuesday.
In a press statement, Armed Forces' Western Mindanao Command spokesperson Captain Rowena Muyuela said that about 12:30 p.m. Sunday, 58-year-old Hja Dingkim Yap, a resident of Barangay Chinese Pier, was abducted by armed men onboard a Tamaraw FX van with no plate number.
The Sulu Provincial Police Office (SPPO) of Patikul and Jolo have coordinated with Joint Task Group Sulu for the joint rescue operations, she added.
Muyuela said the military has deployed troops to support local police during the pursuit operations to track down perpetrators.
