Former Iloilo administrator posts P40k bail
Former Iloilo provincial administrator Manuel Mejorada on Friday posted a P40,000 bail over four counts of libel lodged against him by Senate President Franklin Drilon.
Mejorada maintained the libel charges were a form of harassment from Drilon, GMA Iloilo reported.
The libel cases stemmed from Mejorada's claims linking Drilon to supposed irregularities in projects such as the Iloilo City Convention Center.
Last October, Mejorada filed criminal charges against Drilon, Tourism Secretary Ramon Jimenez Jr., and Public Works Secretary Rogelio Singson over the alleged overprice of the Iloilo convention center.
But Drilon said the charges were baseless and were done with malice. —Joel Locsin/KBK, GMA News
