5 hurt as multicab falls down ravine in Cebu province
Five people, four of them children, were injured when a multicab fell down a 100-meter ravine in Talisay City in Cebu province last Saturday.
The vehicle, driven by Arnel Silva, had just been repaired and was being tested when the incident occurred, GMA Cebu's Alan Domingo reported Monday on GMA News TV's "Balita Pilipinas Ngayon."
The children, aged seven and eight, narrated the vehicle was speeding and went out of control. They were thrown out of the vehicle before it fell into the ravine.
"Bumaliktad, nahulog kami, at ang sasakyan nalaglag sa ibaba," said one of the children. The four children suffered scratches and bruises.
Silva, who was still in the vehicle when it fell into the ravine, sustained serious injuries and will have to undergo an operation.
"Ang ibang mga bata dinala sa ospital, ang naiwan yung manugang ko dahil ooperahan," said multicab owner Roberto Olivar.
Police are investigating what caused the incident and who should be held liable and shoulder the medical expenses of the four children. — Joel Locsin/JDS, GMA News
