Tornado destroys 8 houses in South Cotabato

A tornado destroyed eight houses in Banga town in South Cotabato province, a television report said Friday.



The tornado also caused a power outage in the area, GMA News TV's "Balita Pilipinas Ngayon" reported.

Citing initial information, the report said the tornado also destroyed a pig pen and damaged electric posts, knocking out power in the area.

It said the eight houses were easily destroyed as they were made of light materials.

Authorities are still determining the extent of damage to property caused by the tornado. — Joel Locsin/LBG, GMA News
