Some 171 barangays in three towns in Iloilo are at high risk for floods and landslides, the Mines and Geosciences Bureau warned.

The barangays include 71 in Leon, 64 in San Joaquin and 36 in Igbaras, GMA Iloilo's Joecel Huesca reported Friday.

"Leon is still number one sa (landslide-prone area) natin in the whole Western Visayas....

The MGB is conducting a more detailed mapping in the high-risk areas to help the local governments concerned come up with preparation measures.

On the other hand, the MGB cited the risk of a sink hole forming at Bulabog Puti-An National Park in Dingle town.

"Within those limestone areas, pag may mga cave networks kasi, may posibilidad na meron ding sinkholes. — Joel Locsin/LBG, GMA News
