Parts of Quezon province may expect a power interruption lasting up to 11 hours, while parts of Batangas may have a power interruption of up to nine hours on Thursday.

The National Grid Corp. of the Philippines said the brownout in Quezon is for the scheduled shutdown of the Gumaca 40-megavolt transformer due to preventive maintenance and testing of the equipment and secondary devices.

In an advisory, the NGCP said the scheduled outage from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. may affect the franchise area of QUEZELCO 1.

The NGCP also said there will be a power interruption from  8 a.m. to 5 p.m. due to the scheduled shutdown of Calaca-Taal 69-kilovolt line Thursday.

The NGCP said the areas affected include those in the franchise area of BATELEC 1, to facilitate preventive maintenance along the line.

Affected towns include Taal, Lemery, Agoncillo and Sta. Teresita.  — Joel Locsin/ELR, GMA News
