Pork adobo downs 2 Grade-7 students in Pangasinan; probe on

An investigation is ongoing over an alleged case of food poisoning where two Grade 7 students suffered from dizziness and stomach pains after eating pork adobo at the food court of their school in Mangaldan, Pangasinan Tuesday.

Both students of Mangaldan National High School started feeling the symptoms and also vomited 10 minutes after eating the meal, GMA Dagupan's Jasmin Gabriel reported Wednesday.

"Kumain lang po talaga kami tapos ganun po bigla kaming nahilo," said one of the students.

"Sakit-sakit po ng tiyan ko noon," added the other.

An initial investigation showed the two suffered from food poisoning, after eating pork adobo and drinking ice with water, which they bought outside the school.

But for now, health authorities consider this an isolated case.

The two students managed to recover and return to school Wednesday.

Still, the Rural Health Unit is now investigating the case after the two were rushed to the Region 1 Medical Center.

For her part, principal Rebecca Cancino talked to food vendors inside and outside the school premises, adding this was the first time this happened.

The school administration also assured the food sold in its food court is safe.

"Mineral water ang iniinom nila rito. First time po ito na nangyari sa amin," Cancino said. — Joel Locsin/LBG, GMA News
