3 children slain inside home in Lipa City

Three children were found dead inside their rented apartment in Lipa City, Batangas on Sunday morning.

 

In an interview over dzBB radio, Lipa City police chief Superintendent Carlos Barde said the children -- aged 10, 8 and 7 -- were hit in the head with a "hard object."

 

The children were found inside their room at around 8 a.m.

 

Barde said the children's grandmother left them at around 1:30 a.m. to tend to her store at the public market, which was only 200 meters away from the apartment in San Nicolas Street, Barangay Balintawak.

 

The police official said a neighbor saw a man leaving the apartment at past 3 a.m.

 

He said the apartment looked ransacked, but nothing valuable was stolen according to the children's grandmother.

 

Barde said he has ordered the formation of a special investigative task force to focus on the children's killing. — ALG, GMA News
