3 girls drown in Ilocos Sur

Three girls drowned during a beach outing in Magsingal, Ilocos Sur over the weekend, the Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) reported Tuesday.

 

The PCG identified the fatalities as Bea Tamargo, 10; Maricar Tab, 9; and Germinine Ascano, 21.

 

The remains of Tamargo and Tab were found near the shoreline of Barangay Alangan in Magsingal town.

 

The PCG said the incident happened last Saturday when the victims went swimming with their family.

 

It said the victims were swimming when "a sudden change of sea condition occurred."

 

The victims were dragged to the deeper part of the sea and went missing. Their bodies were found on Sunday. —Joel Locsin/ALG, GMA News
