Newborn baby left to die in Negros Occidental plantation

A newborn baby was left to die in a banana plantation in Kabankalan in Negros Occidental over the weekend - by her own parents aged 20 and 19.

 

The child was born to a 20-year-old woman at a boarding house last Friday, GMA News TV's Balita Pilipinas Ngayon reported on Wednesday.

 

Both parents surrendered to police last Saturday, saying they were not ready to have a child. Both now faces charges of infanticide.

 

Investigation showed that after the child was born, the parents placed the baby in a bag and left it at the plantation behind the boarding house.

 

The father then admitted the incident to their landlady. 

 

A security guard who went to the plantation saw the baby bitten by ants.
