Dengue kills 9 children in Bulacan

Nine children have died in six towns in Bulacan province due to dengue.
A report on GMA News' Balitanghali said the nine dengue fatalities were recorded in the towns of San Rafael, Malolos, Pulilan, San Jose del Monte, Norzagaray and Angat from January to the first week of September.
The children were aged 10 and below, the report added.
A dengue outbreak has been declared in Bulacan due to the alarming increase in the number of dengue cases since January.
The provincial health department has recorded more than 3,000 dengue cases from January to the fist week of September.
A total of 1,115 dengue cases were recorded in the province during the same period last year.
Medical staff from the Sacred Heart Hospital in Malolos town said that five to six dengue cases are admitted to the facility almost everyday.
The Department of Health said that Bulacan has the highest number of dengue cases in Central Luzon, followed by Tarlac and Pampanga. —ALG, GMA News
