NGCP: 9-hour power interruption to hit Mactan Island on Sunday

A nine-hour power interruption will hit Mactan Island in Cebu province on Sunday and will affect the Mactan Electric Cooperative (MECO), the National Grid Corporation of the Philippines said Thursday.

In an advisory, the NGCP said the scheduled power outage will be from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. on September 27, and will affect parts of Mactan Island.

Also, the NGCP said the power outage was scheduled to facilitate maintenance works along the Lapu-lapu Gas Insulated Substation Feeder 1 to MECO Substation and along Lapu-lapu Gas Insulated Substation 69kV Feeder 2 and Annual Preventive Maintenance of Pajo Load-End Substation 10MVA transformer.

Specific areas that may be affected by the power outage will be determined by the MECO, it said. — LBG, GMA News
