A man was taken in for questioning by police investigators after his estranged wife was found dead inside his car in Cebu City recently.

According to a report by Lou Ann mae Rondina on GMA News' "24 Oras," Wayne Uy reported to the police that his car was taken by a car thief at gunpoint. He said the thief took off with his wife still on board.

The victim Agnalen Uy was later found dead in Cebu City with her body bound by duct tape and her bag slid into the compartment still containing her valuables.

Wayne said he had been separated from the victim for four years and that he was with her on Wednesday to talk about their annulment arrangements.

He denied killing his wife and said he was willing to cooperate in the investigation.

“Walang ibang paraan, willing akong mag-coordinate. Walang problema sa akin yan. Kinuha nila ang cellphone ko para imbestigahan,” Wayne said.

Due to a lack of evidence, Wayne was released after he underwent parrafine and finger print testing.

“Reportedly mayroon silang pending annulment. Mayroon tayong information na lagi silang nag-aaway. Were continuing sa ating investigation, gathering of evidences,” Chief Inspector David Señor said. -Andrei Medina/NB, GMA News
