Indiscriminate firing in viral video did not happen in Ilocos Norte —PNP
The gun firing incident participated in by Ilocano-speaking people and caught on video which has gone viral did not happen in Ilocos Norte, the provincial Philippine National Police said on Tuesday.
The Ilocos Norte PNP said they did not receive any report of indiscriminate firing over the New Year holidays, but admitted there were three victims of stray bullets in their area, a report by Raffy Tima on News To Go said.
In the video, a group of men in jackets were shown with long guns and handguns. One of them shouted, "Ready! Fire!" then a burst of gunfire followed.
A woman was also shown in the video firing a gun into the air.
The video was shared on social media and became viral.
According to the one who posted the video, he is the father of one of those in the video.
One of those who commented on the post said the video is already old and that it was taken in Guam.
The PNP is investigating the incident, the report said.
According to the PNP, those behind the indiscriminate firing will be held accountable.
Experts said the gun range is the safest place to fire guns.
