Sugar-coated ampao or puffed rice downed at least 85 pupils in Ubay, Bohol on Friday.
A report on GMA News TV Live said students at the Villa Teresita Elementary School bought the puffed rice from a street vendor.
School officials said that after eating puffed rice, the students complained of stomach ache and vomited.
The children were rushed to the Don Emilio del Valle Hospital.
The report said 19 of the schoolchildren were confined and 66 were allowed to go home, but were under observation.
The local government of Ubay has ordered an investigation in the incident. —ALG, GMA News
