Colorful performances, lively crowd in Cebu Sinulog Grand Parade

 

Groups from different parts of the country displayed unique performances dedicated to the miraculous Santo Niño in Cebu on Sunday for the annual Sinulog Grand Parade Festival.

Tourists and locals alike gathered to witness 32 contingents perform their elaborate performances complete with colorful costumes and props.

According to a report by Chona Carreon in “Balitanghali” on Sunday, the 36th year of the annual cultural and religious festival featured seven out-of-town contingents, 17 contingents in the Sinulog Base category, and 15 contingents in the Free Interpretation category.

Forty-seven floats, 31 “higantes,” and 17 puppeteers added to the joy of the celebration in Cebu City Sports Complex.

A grand fireworks display to cap the Sinulog Grand Parade is ongoing as of posting time. — APG, GMA News
