Thousands dance on streets at Halad Festival honoring Sto. Niño

Thousands of residents from around Mindanao joined the annual Halad Festival honoring the Sto. Niño by dancing on the streets of Midsayap, Cotabato, a report on Unang Balita on Monday said.

A street dance competition was first held at Notre Dame College in Midsayap.

Ten groups in colorful costumes vied for the local category while three groups competed in the open category.

The winner of the local category won P75,000 while that of the local category received P150,000.

The Halad Festival is a celebration giving thanks to the Sto. Niño for blessings received. —KG, GMA News
