8 people arrested in Iligan City buy-bust operation

ILIGAN CITY —Eight people were arrested in a buy-bust operation on Tuesday in Barangay Maria Cristina in the city.

Police personnel led by Senior Inspector Sabino Bacalan Labitad, together with elements of the City Anti-Illegal Drug Task Force (CAIDTF) led by PSI Jupiter James Bandarang, conducted the operation in Purok 28, Zone 11, Maria  Cristina.

Among those arrested was Lovely Balansag, 22, who yielded three big rectangular and heat-sealed transparent plastic sachet containing white crystalline substance believed to be shabu.

Also arrested were Renato  Tuya, 31; Raymond Rivera, 30; Raberto Guindo,40; Junelle Balansag, 20; Stephen Balansag ,19; Elly Jun Balansag, 24; and  Harold Belisario, 39.

Police said the primary target of the entrapment operation was a certain Kamal Domadug, 30,  who managed to escape during the raid.

Recovered from Domadug's residence were two pieces of small heat-sealed transparent plastic sachet containing  white crystalline substance believed to be shabu and marked money amounting to P200.

Police also recovered in the premises of Domadug's residence were five big heat-sealed transparent plastic sachet believed to bey containing shabu, one unit digital weighing scale and cash money amounting to P70,900.

Authorities are now preparing charges against the suspects. — Mariz Revales/LBG, GMA News
