5-hour brownout to hit parts of Ilocos Norte Sunday

Residents in parts Ilocos Norte will experience a five-hour power outage from 1 a.m. to 6 a.m. on Sunday.

In an advisory posted on its Facebook account, the National Grid Corporation of the Philippines (NGCP) said the power interruption was scheduled to accommodate the request of of Mirae Asia Electric Corp. Solar Energy for the connection and commissioning of their 20MW power plant to the grid.

The NGCP said the activity will affect the INEC-Currimao Substation distribution utility.
