Magnitude-4.9 quake jolts Quezon province

‎A magnitude-4.9 quake jolted some areas in Quezon province, with Intensity IV felt in Guinayangan town on Friday morning, the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology said.

In its earthquake bulletin, Phivolcs indicated that the quake, with epicenter traced to Buenavista town, hit the province at 7:05 a.m.

 

Phivolcs also indicated that Intensity III was felt in Lopez town, Intensity II in Gumaca, and Intensity I in Rosario and Mulanay towns.

Based on  Phivolcs' scale, Intensity IV is moderately strong, with hanging objects swinging considerably; dinner, plates, glasses, windows and doors rattle; floors and walls of wood framed buildings creak; and standing cars may rock slightly.

No damage or aftershocks are expected from the quake, according to Phivolcs. — LBG, GMA News
