3 injured as tornado hits Negros Occidental

A tornado swept through Kabankalan City, Negros Occidental on Wednesday, leaving three people hurt and over 90 houses wrecked, a report on Unang Balita on Thursday said.

Two classrooms, a school toilet and a chapel were among the establishments toppled by the tornado.

The incident happened in Barangay Magballo at around 10:35 a.m and lasted for about an hour.

According to the Provincial Social Welfare Office, the three people who suffered minor injuries were immediately brought to the hospital for medical assistance.

Meanwhile, the Provincial Social Welfare Office has already provided food assistance to the victims. —Kiersnerr Gerwin Tacadena/KG, GMA News
