Expect heavy traffic on NLEX on Sunday due to Iglesia Ni Cristo event

The Iglesia Ni Cristo sent out traffic advisories in preparation for their worldwide propagation event on Sunday.

In a text message sent to GMA News on Friday, the group said commuters along the North Luzon Expressway may expect heavy traffic around 8 a.m. on May 22 as delegates from nearby congregations will converge in Ciudad de Victoria in Bulacan for an evangelical mission.

"Expect heavy traffic po along NLEX. Humihingi na po kami ng paumanhin at pang-unawa sa mga maaabala. Maraming salamat po," the message read.

Executive Minister Eduardo Manalo will lead the evangelical mission on Sunday at the Philippine Arena and Philippine Sports Stadium.

Guests from nearby congregations will listen to the lecture on site. Elsewhere, guests will attend the event via video conferencing in any of the 2,900 sites participating worldwide.

Iglesia Ni Cristo spokesperson Edwil Zabala earlier apologized for another event by the church which caused heavy traffic along Commonwealth Avenue in Quezon City. —Rie Takumi/KG, GMA News
