Army man killed by suspected Abu Sayyaf members in Sulu
A member of the Philippine military was killed on Thursday at around 5:30 a.m. and another was injured by two suspected members of Abu Sayyaf Group (ASG) in Sulu.
The two army members, identified as of posting time only as "PFC Buhol" and "PFC Javier," are both members of the 35th Infantry Battalion.
Buhol was declared dead on the spot due to a gunshot on the head while Javier was brought to Camp Teodolfo Bautista for the treatment of his injured leg.
The two victims were riding a motorcycle and were on their way to their headquarters in Barangay Liang, Patikul, Sulu when they were attacked.
Their attackers, who were also riding a motorcycle, used a .45 caliber gun to shoot Buhol and Javier.
