5.4-magnitude quake hits General Santos City

A magnitude 5.4 earthquake struck near General Santos City on Saturday afternoon.
The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) said that quake struck 15 kilometers northeast of the city at 5:08 p.m.
The quake, which was tectonic in origin, struck at a depth of 74 kilometers.
Phivolcs said the quake was felt strongest at Intensity 4 in Alabel and Malungon towns in Sarangani and General Santos City.
It was felt at Intensity 3 in Polomolok, South Cotabato.
Phivolcs said it expects aftershocks.
No damage has been reported from the quake, the agency added. —ALG, GMA News
