14 barangays in Pampanga submerged in floods
At least 14 barangays in Pampanga were hit by floods due to continuous rains on Saturday.
The Central Luzon Regional Disaster Risk Reduction Management Council listed the flooded barangays as of 1 p.m.:
- Bagang, Masantol, Pampanga; 1 foot; due to damaged pandan creek
- Sagrada, Masantol, Pampanga; 1 foot; due to damaged pandan creek
- San Isidro Matua, Masantol, Pampanga; 1 foot; due to high tide
- Bebe Anac, Masantol, Pampanga; 1 foot; due to high tide
- Nigui, Masantol, Pampanga; 6 inches; due to high tide
- Alalui, Masantol, Pampanga; 6 inches; due to high tide
- San Agustin, Masantol, Pampanga; 6 inches; due to high tide
- San Nicolas, Masantol, Pampanga; 6 inches; due to high tide
- Sto. Niño; 6 inches
- San Vicente, Guagua, Pampanga; 2 feet
- San Pedro, Guagua, Pampanga; 2 feet
- San Agustin, Guagua, Pampanga; 2 feet
- St. Jude Phase 1, CSFP, Pampanga; 2 feet; creek overflow
- Sta. Rita, Olongapo City, Pampanga, 1 feet
The report also mentioned two- to three-feet flooding in low-lying areas of Olongapo near the river banks and the evacuation of 76 individuals or 14 families in Brgy. Sta. Rita.
A minor landslide was also reported at Block 14, Gordon Heights and Ohio, Kalaklan, Olongapo City.
Ipo Dam
Officials in Bulacan, meanwnile, are closely monitoring the Ipo Dam as it has exceeded its spilling level of 101 meters at 9 a.m. on Saturday.
Meanwhile, continuous rains at Barangay Daungan washed out four houses on Saturday while heavy rains collapsed the perimeter fence of the Bataan National High School on Saturday evening.
The report said three barangays -- Almacen, Pita and Sapang Balas -- in Hermosa, Bataan were also hit by floods.
About 291 persons or 66 families from landslide- and flood-prone areas have been brought to evacuation centers in Bataan, Bulacan, and Olongapo City.
The provincial disaster risk reduction and management councils in Bataan, Pampanga, Tarlac, and Bulacan have been on alert and in close coordination with the Office of Civil Defense, Department of Interior and Local Government, and Department of Health. —ALG, GMA News
