3,500 families in Rizal flee homes due to threats of flooding

Hundreds of families in at least two towns in Rizal provinces have been displaced due to continuous rains brought on by the enhanced southwest monsoon, an official said Sunday.
Dong Malonzo, head of the Rizal Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office, told radio dzBB that nearly 2,000 families have been evacuated in San Mateo town.
Malonzo added that classes in all levels, public and private schools, on Monday in San Mateo town are suspended.
He said at least 1,500 families have also been evacuated in Montalban town.
Malonzo said that the residents evacuated due to threats of flooding in their areas. —ALG, GMA News
