Pregnant victim of Davao City blast dies

The pregnant woman who was among those wounded in the September 2 bombing of a Davao City night market died from her injuries Monday night, a report on Balita Pilipinas said Tuesday.

Vicente Depalubos' death brought the number of fatalities in the deadly bombing to 15, the report said.

The report said Depalubos, who was six months pregnant, was comatose for several days before she perished while confined at a private hospital.

Depalubos was one of the massage therapists who were badly hurt when an improvised explosive device was detonated at the Roxas Night Market on the night of September 2, a Friday.

The explosion prompted President Rodrigo Duterte to put the entire country under state of lawless violence, which called for increased police and military presence in public places.

Police said it has already identified the suspect in the bombing.  —KBK, GMA News
