Actor Mark Anthony Fernandez is not being given special treatment at the Angeles City Police's Station 6, its police commander said Wednesday.

In a report by GMA News' Jun Veneracion on Balitanghali, Chief Inspector Francisco Guevarra Jr. said that Fernandez was moved to a vacant cell for female inmates out of consideration.

Guevarra said Fernandez often has to make a trip to the restroom so they transferred him to the new cell, which has a restroom of its own, the report said.

He added that what could be considered as special treatment is if Fernandez would be allowed to stay in the office, which had air conditioning.

In the report, Fernandez could be seen sitting on the floor behind bars, with an electric fan facing him.

The 37-year-old actor was arrested Monday night after police spotted a sack of marijuana in his car at a checkpoint in Angeles City, Pampanga.

While Fernandez admitted that he was carrying some marijuana during the time of arrest, he denied that the kilo of marijuana was his.

He claimed that it was planted by one of officers at the checkpoint when they conducted the check.

The police denied the allegations. — Jessica Bartolome/RSJ, GMA News
