Two Pampanga courts were scheduled to formally read charges against Fernandez on Thursday: the Angeles City Municipal Trial Court Branch 1 for civil disobedience after he supposedly tried to run away from the police during his arrest on Monday, and the Angeles City Regional Trial Court Branch 60 for his alleged violation of the Dangerous Drugs Act.
Fernandez’s camp also moved for his immediate transfer to the Pampanga Provincial Jail.
He is currently detained at Angeles City Police Station 6, but his camp argued that the station is too crowded to accept additional inmates.
Fernandez was arrested in Angeles City, Pampanga on Monday night after a kilo of marijuana was found on him.
He also tested positive for marijuana but not for shabu. —Erwin Colcol/KG, GMA News
