Man attempts hold-up on bus, is overpowered by passengers
Passengers on a bus overpowered a would-be robber who had stabbed another passenger and taken the victim's cellphone and wallet, according to an exclusive report on GMA's "24 Oras."
The incident occurred Sunday morning on a bus on its way to Cavite. The suspect, identified as Joel Radaza, also supposedly wounded another passenger, after which the others on the bus were able to subdue him and bind his hands. He sustained wounds all over his body.
"Kumbaga sablay kasi lahat ng sagot niya kaya medyo nag-init na rin ako kasi talagang, kung hinayaan ka namin, uulit-ulitin mo eh," Julius Rosella, one of the passengers, said.
Radaza, who was brought to the Bacoor Police Station, admitted that he stole the cellphone but said that he did it because he was intoxicated.
"Lasing rin ako. Nasa upuan lang, kinuha ko. [Patawarin na ako] ng mga tao para makalaya na ako. Kawawa rin pamilya ko eh," he said.
Other individuals have come forward since the video went online, claiming to be his victims.
"Sa ngayon po 'yung suspect nahaharap sa theft through pickpocket tsaka physical injury," PO2 Raegan Fama of the Bacoor City Police said, noting that the victims are encouraged to file cases. — Jon Viktor D. Cabuenas/BM, GMA News
