Police raid shabu lab in Isabela, kill 2 suspected drug traffickers
Police teams killed two suspected drug traffickers in a raid at a warehouse converted into a shabu laboratory in Cauayan City, Isabela on Sunday afternoon.
Police identified one of the slain suspects as Chinese Filipino Kim Punzalan Uy, who uses the aliases Atong Lee, Chua and Lung.
The other slain suspect was described by policemen as a Chinese-looking man.
The raid was conducted at around 3:30 p.m. Sunday along Prenza Street in the city's District 1.
Police said the two suspects fired at the raiding team upon their entry into the compound.
Philippine National Police chief Director General Ronald dela Rosa who inspected the shabu laboratory said the successful raid is a result of a three-month operation.
Seized from the compound were chemical precursor and essential chemicals and laboratory equipment used in the manufacture of shabu.
Also seized were two handguns and several documents.
The police said the shabu laboratory can produce 200 kilograms of shabu. —ALG, GMA News
