Floods in Calumpit, Bulacan still waist-deep after Typhoon Lawin

Days after Typhoon Lawin left, the flood level in Calumpit, Bulacan remains at waist level, a report on Unang Balita on Monday said.

Among the barangays still flooded are Brgy. Sapang Bayan and Brgy. Poblacion.

Backflooding or the flow of water from Nueva Ecija and Pampanga down to Bulacan has caused Pampanga River to overflow, thus leading to flooding in Calumpit.

Almost 70 families are still housed at the evacuation center, the report said.

The local government unit is providing food and relief goods to the evacuees.

Residents who evacuated are concerned about getting athlete's foot due to wading in floodwaters. —KG, GMA News
