Dimaukom family cries rubout, PNP says legitimate ops

The family of slain Datu Saudi Ampatuan Mayor Samsudin Dimaukom believes the local chief executive and his nine companions were the victims of a police rubout, GMA News "24 Oras" reported on Monday.

Dimaukom was one of ten individuals who were killed on Friday in an alleged shootout with police at a checkpoint in Makilala, Cotabato.

The family also claimed that a huge amount of money was missing from the mayor's vehicle.

The PNP, for its part, stressed that the shooting was a legitimate police operation. It, however, added that it would investigate the Dimaukom family's allegations, including the alleged missing cash.

Dimaukom is on President Rodrigo Duterte's list of alleged drug dealer.—Joseph Tristan Roxas/NB, GMA News
