Twister destroys 11 houses in Zamboanga del Sur

A twister destroyed 11 houses and rice crops as it went through the municipality of Tambulig, Zamboanga del Sur on Monday, a report on Unang Balita on Wednesday said.

The twister occurred at 3 p.m. in Purok 4, Brgy. Lower Tiparak.

Some fruit trees fell due to the strong winds.

Police said heavy rain poured before the twister occurred.

No one was hurt since residents evacuated in time just before the twister hit their homes.

The affected residents sought shelter at the houses of their relatives for the meantime after their homes were destroyed.

The local government also gave them assistance.

It was the first time a twister went through the municipality. —KG, GMA News
