Murder raps filed vs. San Pedro cop who shot a man outside a bank

San Pedro, Laguna Police filed murder raps against PO3 Reynaldo Dizon for shooting a man who went amok, a report on Unang Balita on Tuesday said.

Dizon was caught on video firing his gun at the man outside a bank in San Pedro. The video went viral.

Security guards asked Dizon for help to subdue the man identified as Sharief Amatonding who went amok and insisted on going inside the bank.

Police said Dizon should be held accountable for the incident.

Dizon already surrendered to authorities.

He refused to give a statement, but said he only did his duty and is ready to face the charges.

Amatonding's live-in partner, who is in jail due to drug-related charges, said the victim was experiencing depression at the time of the incident. —KG, GMA News
