Almost 100 downed by suspected food poisoning in Cebu City
At least 96 people had to undergo medical treatment in Cebu City on Tuesday evening after suffering from suspected food poisoning.
According to Nagiel Bañacia, Cebu City Public Information Office manager, Code Red was raised at the Guba hospital as of 10:40 p.m. after 90 persons were brought to the facility to undergo treatment.
He said the patients are spaghetti from a flower farm owner who offered free lunch on Monday, Dec. 19 to all the residents of Sitio Tawagan.
At least six patients were rushed to the Cebu City Medical Center due to severe hydration.
There are two ambulances and a Quick Response Team (QRT) on call to assist the patients.
Bañacia said that a QRT and City Ambulance Services conducted a house to house search on Tuesday evening in Sitio Tawagan, Barangay Sirao in Cebu City to search for patients who had opted to stay home to self-medicate. — BAP, GMA News
