At least 14 people were hurt after two buses collided at the Maharlika Highway, Sumilang in Calauag, Quezon province on Tuesday evening, reported GMA News stringer Peewee Bacuño.
The Pamar bus was heading to Sorsogon from Manila while the Daet Express was on its way to Cubao from Daet town in Camarines Norte.
It took rescuers about two hours to pry the Daet Express driver from the front seat. He was rushed to a hospital in Lopez town, Quezon is in a critical condition.
The Pamar bus driver, meanwhile, seemed to have a broken leg and was unconscious when he was brought to the hospital.
According to one of the passengers, the speeding Pamar bus hit the Cubao-bound bus.
The initial investigation of the PNP showed that the site of the accident was slippery.
The injured passengers were brought to the Magsaysay District Hospital for treatment.
The police are conducting an investigation into the accident. — BAP, GMA News
