Fear continues a week after Hilongos, Leyte blast

Residents of Hilongos, Leyte still fear for their safety a week after a pair of improvised explosive devices exploded during a boxing match in celebration of their town fiesta, an Unang Balita report on Wednesday said.

Some residents are concerned there might be a repeat of the blast which killed more than 30 individuals, including seven minors and two senior citizens.

To ensure the safety of the locals, police tightened security in the town.

Security measures include setting up checkpoints in the area.

Authorities, meanwhile, are still investigating the incident. —Erwin Colcol/KG, GMA News
