M5.1 quake hits off Virac, Catanduanes Wednesday afternoon

A magnitude 5.1 earthquake struck off the southern shore of Virac, Catanduanes on Wednesday afternoon, January 11.

PHIVOLCS said the quake struck at around 2:24 pm at a depth of 9km. It was felt as far as Albay, Camarines, and Sorsogon.

While aftershocks are possible, no damage or tsunamis are expected from the quake. — GMA News
