Ex-mayor's brother shot dead in Laguna

A city administrator and brother of a former Laguna mayor was shot dead in San Pablo City on Thursday.

A GMA News TV Live report on Friday quoted police officials identifying the victim as 64-year-old Damaso Amante.

An initial investigation showed Amante had just come from his mother's residence and was on his way to the city hall on board his vehicle when the attack happened.

He was declared dead on arrival at the hospital. 

Investigators are still determining the motive behind the crime, the report added.

The victim was the brother of San Pablo City Mayor Vicente Amante. — MDM, GMA News
