Raps filed vs. suspect in Cebu road rage shooting
Complaints have been filed against businessman David Lim Jr., the suspect in the road rage shooting incident in Cebu City last weekend, a report by GMA News' Emil Sumangil on "24 Oras" said Tuesday.
The report said Cebu City Police filed on Tuesday afternoon frustrated murder and illegal possession of firearms complaints against Lim with the city prosecutor office.
This despite the fact that the caliber 22 pistol used by Lim in shooting Ephraim Nuñal in the feet and legs has yet to be turned over the police.
Lim, at that time, was with his girlfriend, identified as Tamae Takahashi.
The suspect is the nephew of suspected drug lord Peter Lim, who was tagged by President Rodrigo Duterte as a major drug lord in the Visayas region. Duterte later had a face-to-face meeting with the elder Lim.
Accessory to the crime
Meanwhile, Cebu City Police chief Sr. Supt. Joel Doria said Takahashi may also face charges for being the accessory to the crime.
"Accessory [to the crime] po ang ifa-file natin sa kanya, considering din na nakita natin sa video na kasama pa siya," Doria said.
Doria said Takahashi should have restrained Lim or call authorities after his boyfriend shot Nuñal four times.
"She has all the time to pacify ang kasama niya and at the same time, nakita natin sa video, she can always call naman for assistance, inform yung police natin," Doria said.
"However, hindi niya nagawa. Pag-alis nila, sumama na rin siya umalis and she did not attempt to inform the authorities," he added.
Lim is detained at PRO 7 headquarters, the report said.
It added Lim was supposed to post bail for his offenses, but his legal team was unable to file it before the end of office hours. —Joseph Tristan Roxas/KBK, GMA News
