Fire destroys at least 50 houses, injures 4 in Biñan, Laguna

A fire believed sparked by a faulty solar panel destroyed at least 50 houses and hurt four people in Biñan City in Laguna Tuesday morning.

"Unang Balita" reported Wednesday morning that the fire occurred in the city's Barangay Poblacion shortly before 11 a.m.

An initial investigation showed that the fire could have been sparked by a faulty solar panel atop a house, and spread quickly through houses made of light materials.

Investigators said that at least four people were hurt in the fire that reached the 5th alarm before it was was put out two hours later.

Residents the fire displaced are temporarily staying at a covered court in the barangay. —LBG, GMA News
