The suspect who confessed to the massacre of a family in San Jose del Monte, Bulacan was already involved in cases of rape and other forms of sexual harassment in Rizal and Bulacan.

A report by Cesar Apolinario in 24 Oras said on Friday that Carmelino Navarro Ibañes, who was arrested Wednesday, had nearly raped a woman in Barangay Banaba, Rizal last October.

Jamaine Abad, the victim, said that Navarro entered her house early in the morning and acted as if he were her husband.

Abad said Navarro was drunk and was seemingly under the influence of illegal drugs.

"May yumayakap yakap sa akin so inisip ko po siya. Nainis ako sa kanya kasi madaling araw na. So ginawa ko, sinisiko ko siya," Abad said.

Ibañes ran to the door and escaped when Abad turned on the lights.

Irene Guntan, an official of Barangay Banaba, confirmed the case and said that she handled the complaint.

She said that Ibañes had already victimized a lot of women.

"Nanghaharass din yan. Pambabastos ng mga babae, hinihipuan mga ganyan," Guntan said.

In Bulacan, Ibañes allegedly ran over a tent, injuring a child, while under the influence of alcohol.

Ibañes and two other companions allegedly stabbed to death five people: Auring Dizon, 58; her daughter Estrella Dizon, 28; and Estrella's children Donnie, 11; Ella, 7 and Dexter Jr., 1.

Relatives from Cagayan and Davao City attended the wake on Friday.

Non-government and government agencies also dropped by and promised to help the family to achieve justice.

Dexter Carlos, the father of the victims, said that he wanted the suspects punished for their crimes.

"Ang hiling ko lang mabigyan ng tamang hustisya kung sino man ang may gawa. Dapat lahat maparusahan," Carlos said.

"Gusto ko nga pag maapruban ang death penalty sila ang unang unang masampolan sa death penalty. Yun lang ang request ko sa mahal na Pangulo," he added. —Jessica Bartolome/NB, GMA News
