Journalist slain in Sultan Kudarat

Motorcycle-riding gunmen killed a journalist in Sultan Kudarat province on Monday morning.

Police identified the victim as Leodoro Diaz, who writes a column for Sapol News and a Tacusong-based radio reporter.

Diaz had just left his home and was on board a motorcycle when the gunmen shot him in Barangay Kalanawi, President Quirino town at around 9 a.m.

Police said the newsman died due to multiple gunshot wounds in the body.

Investigations are ongoing to identify the gunmen and the motive for the journalist's killing. —ALG, GMA News
