Mortar blasts frighten Lanao del Norte town residents

The military believed that several mortar bombs that exploded in  Marantao, Lanao del Sur Sunday morning were likely lobbed from Marawi City, GMA 7 news program "Saksi" reported.

Western Mindanao Command chief Lt. General Carlito Galvez said it was possible that the mortar rounds were launched by Maute group fighters from the main battle area.

The bombs cut holes through a residence's steel gate, blew a hole threw a school's concrete wall, and left crater at a construction site.
