P2M lost as tornado hits 6 Davao Norte villages

BUTUAN CITY - A tornado ripped through six barangays (villages) in Davao del Norte on Wednesday morning, the Office of the Civil Defense said. Hit were barangays Salvacion, Ginamayan, Talomo, San Miguel, Esperanza, and San Vicente, all in Sto. Tomas town. No one was reportedly hurt. However, properties worth P2 million were destroyed by the windstorm, the Davao del Norte Provincial Disaster Coordinating Council said. Sto. Tomas Mayor Max Estella said he is awaiting official reports from the six villages.
